After a successful first half of the season on loan at Leeds United, Pablo Hernandez made the permanent switch to Elland Road in January, in the hope he will be a Premier League player once again come May.

Hernandez has plied his trade in the top tier of English before with Swansea City, so should Leeds get back there, Hernandez will supply them with some Premier League experience.

Hernandez left Swansea in 2014 to go and play for Qatar Stars League side, Al-Arabi, but he was soon keen to come back to England, and Leeds offered him a lifeline.

The Leeds winger has been capped by Spain four times and has got on the score sheet on a single occasion, but he will no doubt be thirsty for another crack at the National team.

Everybody knows where Hernandez came from and what he has achieved in his career, but here, FLW's Chris Wilson will look at TWO things you probably didn't know about Hernandez...

Teammate and manager

During Hernandez's spell in South Wales with Swansea, he played with his now boss, Garry Monk, in what was a successful Jacks' side.

Monk and Hernandez were both part of the Swansea side that picked up the clubs' only silverware in the last 5 years, the Capital One Cup, beating Bradford City 5-0 at Wembley.

Shortly after, Monk became manager at the Liberty Stadium and now he is at Elland Road, overseeing the progress of his former team mate.

2009 Confederations Cup

Hernandez went to the 2009 Confederations Cup with Spain as he was called up to the squad as a late replacement for Andres Iniesta.

The winger made his international bow in Spain's last group stage match against South Africa in Bloomfontein, coming on to replace David Villa, who at the time was Hernandez's team mate at Valencia.

Hernandez didn't make another appearance during the competition, as Spain went on to finish third place, beating South Africa in the third place Play-Off.

The Spaniard went on to make three more appearances for his country, scoring one goal in a friendly against Austria.
