13 games remain in the Sky Bet Championship and one of the teams fighting for promotion by the end of the season will certainly be Garry Monk's Leeds United team.

The Whites sit in 5th place in the league table after a terrific first campaign under the former Swansea City boss Garry Monk, and one of his key players is a man who he brought over from his old club.

Defender Kyle Bartley, on loan from Swansea City, has been outstanding in the heart of the Leeds defence this season and his partnership with fan favourite Pontus Jansson is one of the best in the entire Championship.

Bartley has struggled to ignite his career after a number of moves so far, but he finally looks to have found some form at Elland Road this season.

The 25-year-old began his professional career with Arsenal before making the switch to South Wales and has had loan spells at the likes of Sheffield United, Rangers and Birmingham City, but what don't we know about him?

Football League World writer Harry Webster takes a look at TWO things you probably never knew about Kyle Bartley...

Bartley has played in European competitions

It may have been his only appearance for the Gunners, but Kyle Bartley made his Arsenal debut in the Champions League in 2009.

Arsene Wenger's men lost 1-0 away at Olympiakos that night with Bartley at fault for the only goal of the game.

The Gunners had already confirmed their place at the top of the group meaning Wenger decided to give youth a chance and Bartley was one of those players.

The 25-year-old also played in the Europa League for Rangers during a loan spell at Ibrox in the 2010-2011 season.

He began his footballing career at Bolton

Although he became known playing for Arsenal, the Manchester born defender first spent some of his youth career at Bolton Wanderers.

Between 2005 and 2007, Bartley started to learn his trade with the Trotters before heading to the capital to progress his career with the Gunners.

At only 25-years-old, the central defender has already experienced his fair share of clubs so far in his career.
