Blackburn Rovers will be hoping they can make a long-awaited return to the Premier League this season under the guidance of Tony Mowbray.

The Lancashire-based side are currently sat tenth in the Championship table, and are just three points adrift of the play-off positions with nine games remaining in this year's campaign.

Rovers have coped admirably in recent weeks, and have done well to stay in touch with the play-off chasing pack, especially given the fact that their talisman Bradley Dack has been out injured since December with a season-ending knee injury.

But they'll be hoping they can put together a strong run of form when they return to action, and it's set to be a closely-fought battle between a number of sides for the play-off places in the Championship.

The FA have previously announced that all professional football in the UK won't get back underway until the 30th April at the earliest due to recent events, and that could be pushed further back if required.

We take a look at TWO Blackburn Rovers facts that you might not have heard of before!

Find out what they are, below....

Bradley Dack almost became a professional cricketer.

Dack has been in hugely impressive form in recent seasons for Blackburn. He netted 18 goals for Tony Mowbray's side in all competitions this term.

He then hit ten goals for Rovers this season, before being ruled out with a serious knee injury picked up in a draw against Wigan Athletic in December 2019.

But it has previously been revealed that Dack had trials with Kent cricket club as a youngster, before making the decision to pursue football.

FA Cup record

Blackburn might not have had much success in recent years with the FA Cup, but they won it three times in a row early into their time as a club.

Rovers won it in the 1884,1885 and 1886 seasons, which means that they hold the record for the longest unbeaten run in the FA Cup as they went 24 games without defeat.
