Millwall U18s were left disappointed as their FA Youth Cup run was ended by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night but many fans of the South London club have been heaping praise on the young side.

Backed by a significant number of fans, Chris Perry's side travelled across London for the FA Youth Cup Quarter-Final yesterday.

Millwall and Chelsea have had an infamous rivalry in the past but their senior sides have not met since 1995.

There was no signs of trouble at Stamford Bridge last night, instead, there were promising signs for both clubs as their young sides played out an enthralling tie.

The Blues came out on top, winning 1-0 with Armando Broja's second-half strike proving decisive.

Millwall had a number of opportunities late on and some penalty shouts waved away but Chelsea held their resolve to qualify for the Semi-Finals of the competition.

It was a disappointing defeat for Perry's side as it brought to an end a memorable FA Youth Cup run.
