Kyle Edwards has recently completed a move to League One side Ipswich Town, following his release from West Brom in the summer.

The midfielder made 49 appearances in total for the West Brom first-team, although just five of those were in the Premier League last term.

Edwards left the club when his contract with the Baggies reached a conclusion at the end of the 2020/21 season, and he'd been attracting interest from Championship teams over the summer.

Reading and AFC Bournemouth both had the 23-year-old on trial at one stage during pre-season, but an agreement with either team wasn't finalised, as he went on to sign for Ipswich Town on a three-year deal at Portman Road.

Edwards spent 17 years in total with West Brom, and took to Instagram to label his it as an 'amazing' journey which came to an end this summer.

Edwards' former West Brom team-mates Dara O'Shea, Karlan Grant and Grady Diangana were quick to respond to his parting message from the Baggies, as they wished him well for the future.

The 23-year-old could be in line to make his Ipswich Town debut on Tuesday evening, when they're set to return to action in the First Round of the EFL Cup, when they take on League Two side Newport County at Portman Road.

The Verdict:

It's good to see his former team-mates wishing him well after his move to Ipswich Town was confirmed.

Edwards has taken a somewhat bold step in dropping into League One, having previously been on trial with both Reading and AFC Bournemouth earlier this summer.

But he could be somewhat of a coup for the Tractor Boys if they can get the best out of him moving forwards this season in the third tier.

At the age of 23, he's likely to still have his best years ahead of him, and West Brom could live to regret letting him go at the end of last year's campaign.
