‘Diabolical’ – Plenty of Stoke City fans rip into player after weekend display

After such a resolute display in their 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers at the weekend, Stoke City manager Nathan Jones has criticised midfielder Sam Clucas for his “lack of discipline” at Loftus Road.

The midfielder was dismissed after just eight minutes following a stamp on QPR midfielder Josh Scowen, which gave his teammates a real mountain to climb at Loftus Road.

But the Potters defended magnificently well throughout the 90 minutes, and are now five games unbeaten following the stalemate in West London. After praising the character shown by his side after the game, Stoke boss Jones slammed the “lack of discipline” shown by Clucas.

He said“It’s a lack of discipline and that cost us, but we showed real character. It did scupper our well-laid plans, but we showed we were adaptable and every one of them to a man was terrific.”

On another day, Clucas’ sending off could have put the Potters’ in real trouble, and it’s testament to their players that they managed to grind out a well-deserved point.

Here, we take a look at Stoke fans’ reactions to Clucas’ moment of madness, as he was sent off for the second time in his career…
