After suffering relegation from the Premier League following a humiliating campaign, former Chelsea and Schalke boss Roberto Di Matteo was appointed manage.

After spending big in the summer of 2015 with little success, Di Matteo will be more cautious than his predecessors when it comes to the transfer market this summer.

Indeed, he will certainly make use of the host of talented young players currently at the club, some of whom came through the academy and some of whom were brought in by Tim Sherwood last summer.

If he can make good use of the youth talent he has on offer, and combine that with some experienced heads then he could have the formula for a side that will shoot straight back up to the Premier League.

With a make or break season ahead of him, here are THREE young stars that Roberto Di Matteo simply must utilise next season....

Adama Traore

The young Spanish winger clearly has pedigree, considering he came through the best youth academy in world football - Barcelona's La Masia.

After just 1 first team appearance in 2 years at Barca, he joined Aston Villa, where he was one of the few positives of their season, terrorising defences with his blistering pace and direct dribbling.

Next season he could be one of the Championship's standout players, if Di Matteo can keep hold of him.

Jack Grealish

The 20- year-old had a bright start to his Villa career, but last season questions were raised about his attitude and professionalism when he was pictured passed out on the floor whilst on holiday.

He was demoted to the under-21's last season by Remi Garde in the hopes he could teach the youngster a lesson.

If Di Matteo can cure these attitude problems then he will have an excellent player on his hands for next season.

Callum Robinson

The young striker has had spent 2016 out on loan with Championship outlet Preston North End, where he bagged 2 goals in 6 games in the Championship, which saw him earn call-ups to the England Under-20 squad, where he has scored 3 times in 11 matches.

Involving a player such as Robinson who has come through the club's youth academy would go down very well with the Villa faithful, and if given a shot at the first team, Robinson has the potential to turn into the dangerous attacking option.
