Swansea City extended their unbeaten league run to three matches as they held bitter rivals Cardiff City to a goalless draw in the Welsh capital on Sunday afternoon.

Steve Cooper's side were aiming to complete the first ever league double in South Wales derby history following their 1-0 success over the Bluebirds back in October, but instead neither side could find the breakthrough during a tense afternoon in Cardiff.

Cardiff slightly edged the overall game play in the opening period as they applied spells of serious pressure on the Swansea back line, but the Liberty Stadium side produced an assured defensive showing in the second half to secure a point on their travels.

Cooper was forced to name Ben Wilmot and Ben Cabango as his side's centre-back partnership - with both Joe Rodon and Mike van der Hoorn out injured - and the young defensive duo both impressed as they matched Cardiff's physicality.

Cabango was one of the stand-out performers in his first South Wales derby appearance, with the 19-year-old winning a number of aerial balls throughout the match, while he also produced a sublime challenge on Lee Tomlin to quash a late Bluebirds attack.

Plenty of Swansea fans took to Twitter following the match to praise Cabango's coming-of-age performance in the second half, while others suggested the Cardiff-born defender could be an outside contender to make Wales' Euro 2020 squad.
