Bristol City saw star midfielder Josh Brownhill depart the club last night and sign for Premier League side Burnley for an undisclosed fee.

The Clarets gave Brownhill a three-and--a-year contract to secure his future at Turf Moor, as he ended an association with Bristol City that has been running since the summer of 2016.

The 24-year-old joined the club in 2016 following his release from Preston North End, and soon became a regular within Lee Johnson's midfield as he made 160 appearances and scored 17 goals for the south Bristol club.

Two of his more memorable goals from his time at Ashton Gate came this season, when he lasered in an effort from 25 yards away at Cardiff City to win the game, as well as scoring a 98th-minute winner at home against Charlton Athletic in November.
