According to The Mirror's David Anderson, Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley is set to be named as Huddersfield Town's new manager.

Football League World's Lincoln City fan pundit Nathan Loveridge has issued his thoughts on Cowley's seemingly imminent departure from the League One club.

When quizzed on whether Cowley's rumoured move to Huddersfield is a good move to further his career as a manager, Loveridge couldn't begrudge the Lincoln boss of a move elsewhere.

"Although Huddersfield have been on the rocks since they got relegated last season under Jan Siewert, they have a club infrastructure that is miles ahead of a club like Lincoln City.

"Huddersfield are a Championship club at worst and I think, although it may be difficult for them in the short term, they will more than likely bring success to Yorkshire.

"Cowley definitely has the capability to manage a level one step above where he is at the moment, and perhaps instilling a winning mentality which has proven so fruitful for Lincoln could be thing that brings success.

"Even if they don’t find massive success at Championship level, a club like Huddersfield gives them the foundation for Premier League clubs to come knocking, and sooner or later he could be in the top-flight of English football."

Loveridge labelled Cowley's move as 'devastating' for the club, and feels as though it is the end of an era once his move to the Championship club is confirmed.

"As a Lincoln fan, this departure will be devastating.

"Whilst I can completely understand his reasons for departure; mainly being having a bigger club to have a platform for management, along with a bigger transfer budget and overall better quality of players – Cowley was so ingrained in City folklore, and the community.

"I don’t think there will be an opportunity for another Lincoln City manager to become such a big part of the community and culture surrounding the club. Him and his brother will be sorely missed, and quite frankly – it’s an era over."

Lincoln City will be hoping that they can cope with life after Cowley, and will be targeting a win when they are next in action against Bristol Rovers at the weekend.
