Plenty of Birmingham City fans have reacted on social media, after Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed that the Blues have had two bids rejected for Marcus Maddison.

Maddison has been one of the standout players for Peterborough over the past few years and has been a key player for the Posh so far this season, scoring ten goals and providing eight assists in 25 appearances in all competitions.

The 26-year-old is regarded as one of the best attacking players outside of the Championship, but with his contract at Peterborough is set to expire at the end of the season, he’s been linked with a move to a number of clubs.

Peterborough confirmed on their club website yesterday that the club have accepted a bid for Maddison from Charlton Athletic and that the player has been given permission to speak to the Addicks to discuss personal terms.

The Posh also confirmed that two other Championship clubs have made multiple bids for Maddison, but were not granted permission to speak to the player.

MacAnthony later revealed on Twitter that one of those clubs was Birmingham, who made two bids for the attacking midfielder, but both of them were rejected by the Posh.
