Neal Maupay has finally secured his exit away from Brentford, with Brighton signing the striker in a deal worth around £20m.

The Frenchman has proven himself to be one of the best finishers outside the top-flight and he hit a very impressive 25 goals for the Bees, as well as eight assists, as they missed out on the play-offs last season.

So, it was always going to be hard for the Londoners to convince the 22-year-old to remain in the Championship and there has been speculation surrounding his future for most of pre-season.

And, the fact Maupay didn't feature for the Bees in any of those games did nothing to stop the rumours. Anyway, the talk is over now as Brentford confirmed his departure on their official site last night.

Whilst most fans recognise they got a few good years out of the player and a decent fee, they are also understandably upset at losing such an influential player with the transfer deadline approaching.
