The Lancashire Telegraph has reported that eighteen-year old striker Devarn Green has signed terms on a two year professional deal with Sky Bet Championship club Blackburn Rovers
Green was signed for an undisclosed fee from Burton Albion academy as a sixteen-year old and moved straight into Blackburn’s academy squad. The highly rated striker impressed during a two week trial with the club in 2013 and has until recently been completing a football scholarship.
Speaking at the time of his move to the Lancashire club Burton’s academy manager Mike Whitlow said of Green “We want every youngster to progress, develop and get an opportunity. This is a fantastic move for Devarn,”
Another prospect to commit them self to a two-year deal is Belgian born Gambian striker Modou Cham who previously played for Greenock Morton.
Other Rovers youth players to sign professional deals are Bradley Bauress, Kellen Daly, Darragh Lenihan, David Carson and John O’Sullivan who have all signed one-year contract extensions.
