Stoke City look on course to sign Jack Butland from Southampton, in a deal that will be a loan with a view to a permanent transfer.
It’s been widely reported that Jack Butland is on his way out of Stoke today, with Gunn set to arrive at the bet365 Stadium from Southampton as his replacement.
As per Alan Nixon on Twitter, Gunn’s arrival will initially be on loan, but there will be a clause inserted in the deal that could make it permanent in the future.

Adam Davies is currently in possession of the gloves at Stoke. He’s helped the Potters pick up five points from the opening four games of the season in the Championship.
Michael O’Neill looks like he will soon have Gunn on board, though, with the 24-year-old arriving as a competitive option for the No.1 jersey.
Gunn has made only 30 appearances in his Southampton career, after arriving at St Mary’s from Manchester City.
Nevertheless, he’s highly-rated and was a huge success at Norwich City during the 2017/18 campaign. At Carrow Road, the goalkeeper made 51 appearances for the Canaries.
This is a good signing for Stoke.
Gunn is a top young goalkeeper and someone that elevates the squad at the bet365.
The good thing for the Potters is that it’s not a straight loan. There’s the potential for them to benefit from this long-term.
It could be one of deadline day’s shrewdest deals.
