Former Nottingham Forest player Jamaal Lascelles has had a very strong season so far for Newcastle United in the Premier League and is attracting interest from champions Chelsea.

The London Evening Standard claim that the Blues are looking to bolster their defence in the summer and see the Forest graduate as the ideal man to come in.

Should he get a move to Antonio Conte’s side, and the prospect of Champions League football and competing for elite trophies will surely appeal, it would continue his remarkable rise since he started out at the City Ground.

The powerful defender was sold to Newcastle along with Karl Darlow under Fawaz Al-Hasawi but was immediately loaned back to the Reds. In total, he made 58 Championship appearances before going back to Newcastle.

Since Rafa Benitez took charge, the 24-year old has established himself as a regular with the Magpies and was appointed club captain too.
