Aston Villa manager Dean Smith will be relieved that star-man Jack Grealish is back to fitness, so much so that the 23-year-old could even make the bench for Saturday's clash with Stoke City.

Grealish has been absent since early December due to a shin injury, with the Villans only winning twice in 12 Championship games during his absence.

So should Grealish be thrown into the Villa starting XI if fit and available?

We discuss.....

Alfie Burns

“Desperate times call for desperate measures.

“Villa need to start picking up wins if they are to challenge for the play-offs, so Smith will have to rush Grealish.

“It isn’t something he will want to do, but he’s going to have to.”

Gary Hutchinson

“Of course he should.

“They’re playing badly, their attack is poor and they lack a creative spark.

“He’s one player who can provide the things they lack.

“When he’s back, they need him in.”

George Harbey

"I think what’s important is that Villa can’t rush him.

"The last thing that Dean Smith will want is for Grealish to be thrown straight back in and potentially aggravate his injury.

"They need to be careful."

Jay Taylor

“Villa are crying out for Grealish to return.

“Having him on the bench with their current form is idiotic from Smith and the fans will let him know about it.

“So do not put him in the side unless he is 100 per cent ready.

“And when he is, start him from the off to try and get the fans back onside.”

Jacob Potter

"I wouldn’t risk starting him.

"If Dean Smith has any sense, he won’t rush Grealish back into action, otherwise he could suffer another injury blow.

"The sensible decision would be to start him on the bench, and that’s where I expect him to be against Stoke."
