Nottingham Forest centre-back Joe Worrall has been a rock in central defence yet again for the East Midlands outfit this season.

The 24-year-old played a key part in helping the Reds concede just 45 times in 46 league matches last term, proving to be crucial in steering his side away from danger as they were only able to score 37 goals all season, a poor attacking record that was only worsened by arch-rivals Derby County.

He missed the start of this campaign with a calf issue, seeing his side fail to keep a single clean sheet in his absence as they lost their first four games before his return.

The centre-back was unable to turn around Forest's form on his own, with former boss Chris Hughton being dismissed after winning just one point from 21 in their opening seven league matches of the season.

But they have been superb as a unit under current manager Steve Cooper, with the defence playing their part in that after conceding just two goals in their previous six Championship fixtures.

This record has been a major reason why the Welshman has gone unbeaten in all but one of his 14 games - and the likes of Worrall and Scott McKenna are frequently singled out for praise on social media for their performances.

They will be hoping to retain the former amid previous interest from numerous Premier League sides - and Worrall has continued to perform superbly and was rewarded with the club's Player of the Month award for his solid displays.

There were plenty of Forest fans that reacted to this latest club update on Twitter - and we take a look at a selection of responses to this award win.
