Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams has been named League Two’s Manager of the Month after leading his side to top of the table.
The Scot became the manager of The Pilgrims during the summer has had an immediate impact on the south coast as his side sit five points clear of second-placed Oxford United.
Adams’ side lost just one of their six games in October, a 2-1 defeat to Oxford, and they also have the best defensive record in the division, conceding just 11 goals from their 16 league games.
While Adams, who is currently in charge of a club south of the border for the first time, was delighted to win the award, he was quick to praise his backroom team and his players.
Speaking to the Football League official site: “It’s fantastic for the football club and it’s a very nice award to get at this stage of the season. We have performed well in October and are happy with the progress we making.
“I have a very good backroom staff in Craig Brewster and Paul Wotton, who I enjoy working with, as well as the rest of the staff at the football club and the players. We have a great team spirit.”
The Green Army travel to struggling York City this Saturday as they look to continue their impressive run of form.
