Six clubs are looking to sign Sheffield Wednesday defender Tom Lees this summer, according to The Daily Mail.

A quartet of Championship sides will rival a Premier League duo for Tom Lees ahead of the 2017/18 season but Sheffield Wednesday will also be desperate to keep their star man.

Burnley are in the hunt for Lees.

The Clarets' star Michael Keane is set to leave Turf Moor and join Everton so Tom Lees is being seen as a replacement.

Burnley have reportedly prepared a £5m bid for the Sheffield Wednesday star as they look at replacements.

They face competition from Premier League new boys Huddersfield Town, who have been splashing the cash since winning promotion to the top flight via the Championship play-offs.

The Terriers beat Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off semi-final and could return to rub salt in the wound and poach the Owls' key defender.

Four Championship clubs are also interested.

Derby County want to sign one more defender and Lees is on Rowett's wishlist.

Middlesbrough are looking to replace Calum Chambers and possibly Ben Gibson if he leaves.

Hull City are in the hunt for Lees with Harry Maguire, Curtis Davies and possibly Michael Dawson leaving.

Sunderland are another club who want the 26-year-old as they aim to rebuild their squad.

Tom Lees still has four years left to run on his contract so Sheffield Wednesday will be encouraged by the fact that there is no urgent need to sell.
