As per the Derby Telegraph, Mike Te Wierik will still join Derby County from Groningen in the summer transfer window, despite the current situation.

What is going to happen with the transfer window is anyone's guess at the moment as it remains to be seen when the current campaign is going to be concluded.

Even so, teams will want to add to their sides as and when they can and it sounds as though Derby will still push ahead with the signing of Te Wierik, with the player agreeing a pre-contract earlier on in the season to join the Rams.

The Dutch season has already been brought to an end in the Netherlands - with results and standings cancelled - in a rather dramatic turn of events.

With Derby on the edge of the play-offs, they might hope similar does not happen in this country.

The Verdict

Whether spending is as huge as it has been in recent years this summer is up for debate - clubs are bound to be a bit more frugal with their spending given the current loss in income.

The Rams would have already worked in Te Wierik, though, and so should be fine to bring him in anyway.
