Brighton and Hove Albion have held further talks with Derby County over a proposed £10million move for right-back Jayden Bogle, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old has come up leaps and bounds under Frank Lampard and was a regular for the Rams in their push for promotion last term.

The young defender made 50 appearances in all competitions last term, establishing himself as one of the most talented young defenders in the country, along with Norwich City's Max Aarons.

After missing out on promotion to the Premier League, top-flight side Brighton and Hove Albion are looking to take advantage of Derby's failure, by luring Bogle to the AMEX Stadium.

According to the Daily Mail, the Seagulls have held further talks with Derby regarding a potential £10million move for the right-back, with the deal seemingly speeding up.

New Albion boss Graham Potter will be no stranger to the youngster, with his former side Swansea City coming up against him last term, and the South Coast club are also believed to be keen on signing another young defender from the EFL in Portsmouth's Matt Clarke.

The Verdict

I think a switch to Brighton would be a good move for Bogle, and Derby won't have any qualms about letting him go for £10million.

He's proven himself to be a very good player in the Championship, and in my view, he should stay at Derby for another year under Lampard.

But, with regular Premier League football on the horizon for the defender, it's an opportunity that he can't really turn down.
