Liverpool winger, Harry Wilson is set to leave the club in the summer as he looks for regular first-team football.

The Daily Mail have reported that the winger made the bold decision, which has led to a trio of Premier League clubs registering their interest in signing the youngster.

Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Southampton are the clubs said to be interested in signing Wilson ahead of a potential permanent move.

This news will come as frustrating news to Derby supporters though, who would have had faint hopes of Wilson opting to renew his loan spell with Frank Lampard’s side.

He made 40 league appearances for the Rams and scored 18 goals in all competitions as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

Wilson and his Derby team-mates were beaten in the Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley on Monday, which condemned them to another season in the second tier of English football.

It’s set to be an interesting summer ahead for the Rams as they look to rebuild ahead of next season.

One loanee that could be set to return to the club is Fikayo Tomori, who stated in an interview with BBC Sport, that he would be open to another loan move to Derby next season.

The Verdict:

This will be an irritating blow for Derby.

Although their chances of signing Wilson up for next season were slim, it seems as though he won’t be returning to the club anytime soon.

He’s a player that needs to be playing regularly in the Premier League, and I would have thought he would sign for Derby again next season if they had won promotion.

But after their defeat at Wembley, they won’t have enough about them to convince him to join on loan again.
