Derby County have reached the play off Final, following a superb 4-1 victory against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Ipro Stadium.

Goals from Will Hughes, Chris Martin, Gorge Thorne and Jeff Hendrick, before a Kazenga Lua Lua consolation for Brighton  sent the Rams on their way to a play off final, as County achieved a 6-2 aggregate win.

County already held a 2-1 lead from the first leg at the AMEX on Friday evening, and totally outplayed their Brighton counterparts.

Derby took the lead after 34 minutes, as Will Hughes flicked home a Jamie Ward cross past the beaten Tomasz Kuszczak in the Albion goal.

The hosts found their second after half time, after influential striker Chris Martin bundled home a 56th minute shot from a Jamie Ward knock down.

George Thorne then volleyed in their third into the bottom corner after 76 minutes, as County were playing with class.

Patrick Bamford came into proceedings in a soaked Ipro Stadium, and the young Chelsea loanee helped set up the fourth.

Bamford played a lovely neat one-two with Hendrick, before pulling the ball back for Hendrick, who slotted home.

Lua Lua then added a consolation for Albion, however, it was Derby’s day.

McClaren’s men will play either Wigan Athletic or Queens Park Rangers in the Final later this month.
