Derby could move for Everton defender Brendan Galloway, according to respected sports journalist Alan Nixon.

20-year-old Galloway has struggled to wrestle his way into the starting line-up at Goodison Park this term, with manager Ronald Koeman often selecting Mason Holgate ahead of him.

The versatile defender spent part of last season on loan with West Brom, but again failed to nail down a place in the starting line-up, meaning a spell in the Championship could be ideal for the youngster.

Derby are looking for additions in the January transfer market with manager Steve McClaren admitting he needed to strengthen following the busy fixture period over Christmas.

Galloway was signed by the Toffees from MK Dons, and is expected to have a bright future at Goodison Park. However, he does need to get some first team football under his belt, and the chance to go and play some regular football with Derby could be one which is too good to turn down.

Derby are just on the periphery of the Championship playoff places this season after a miserable start saw them sack manager Nigel Pearson and turn to former boss McClaren to steady the ship.

Rams fans, what do you think to this? Would Galloway be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
