Derby County goalkeeper Kelle Roos is set to be number two for the upcoming 2014/15 Championship campaign.
Lee Grant is Derby’s number one since re-signing from Burnley at the start of last season and is to step up and become back up. This comes after Adam Legzdins was released last week after being back up to an ever-present Grant last season.
Roos, 21, signed in January from Nuneaton believed to be in the region of £30,000. He is next in line and is progressing well since the Rams.
Derby assistant coach Paul Simpson believes they had to let Legzdins go because of his age. ”We felt because of Kelle we were in a position t release Adam Legzdins. Adam is also at the stage in his career when it is about playing football.
”He has been superb and has pushed Granty all the way in training. That is why Lee Grant has being doing so well because he knows Adam has been breathing down his neck.”
Legzdins made over 40 appearances for the Rams in his three year spell and now is looking for a new club.
