Derby County are notoriously known as one of the worst teams to ever play in the top flight.

Many fans, probably including Derby supporters, cite the last time Derby were in the Premier League as one of the worst in history.

Statistically, it was, by far, and there is no case to argue otherwise.

Derby fans do tend to look back on it and laugh, but there sure were some terrible moments made in that season.

Prior to that, Derby were a decent Premier League club, in their last spell, but even that will have created horror moments Rams fans will want to forget.

Here, we look at the THREE worst moments in Derby’s Premier League history that they will try to forget.

Do you agree, or are their other memories you have that we’ve missed? Let us know in the comments below.

Aside from the awful season they were last there, Derby’s 2002 relegation is a moment Rams fans will wince at.

Derby finished 19th and won just eight games all season, finishing 10 points off safety and going down with both Ipswich and Leicester.

2008. This could be summed up with just the word ‘2008’, because a lot went wrong.

The Rams finished a staggering 26 points off safety, and never really looked like putting up a mere fight, winning just one game all season.

The big losses against the bigger oppositions can potentially be excused, but Derby’s battering at the hands of Villa sticks out as a particularly sore moment.

Ashley Young and John Carew scored one minute apart, and goals from Petrov, Barry, Agbonlahor and Harewood completed Derby’s misery in a mauling at Pride Park.
