Derby County have been linked with a £10m move for Fenerbahce playmaker Ferdi Kadioglu, as per reports from Turkish media outlet Fotospor.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a move to Pride Park before, despite Derbyshire Live claiming that he isn't currently a transfer target for the Rams.

The attacking midfielder is no stranger to Derby boss Phillip Cocu, with the Dutchman bringing him over from NEC Nijmegen to Fenerbahce in 2018.

Kadioglu has only made 11 appearances for the Turkish club thus far, with the playmaker scoring three goals and adding two assists.

Now, fresh reports from Fotospor claim that Derby are interested in a £10m swoop for Kadioglu, with Fener slapping a hefty price tag on the Arnhem-born midfielder.

The report also claims, though, that any potential deal is likely to be completed in the summer rather than this month, as Cocu looks to add fresh faces to his squad.

The Rams sit 17th in the Sky Bet Championship table after a 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.

The Verdict

This is certainly a very interesting piece of transfer news, and it's one that Derby fans will be buzzing about if they get it over the line.

Kadioglu looks to be a really exciting prospect and he is a player that Cocu knows well, and you feel that the Rams would improve if he brought in his own players to thrive in his system.

Tom Lawrence is far too hit and miss for my liking, so a new creative midfielder should definitely be a priority this month, given that Wayne Rooney has played slightly deeper than expected.
