With the transfer window now open for club's across the continent, it will be intriguing to see whether Derby County manager Phillip Cocu opts to add to his squad in the coming weeks.

Whilst the Rams have been boosted by Wayne Rooney's recent arrival, they have yet to bolster their options despite being linked with a plethora of players.

Currently 17th in the Championship standings, it could be argued that a failure to sign any fresh faces could effectively end the club's chances of reaching the play-offs in May.

As well as being short of defensive cover following Richard Keogh's departure in November, the Rams have lacked consistency going forward this season.

Here, we round-up what has been happening on the transfer front over the past few days...

Marcus Maddison

Linked with a move to Derby last month, Peterborough United midfielder Marcus Maddison could now be set to join one of the club's Championship rivals.

According to BBC Sport, the 26-year-old will now discuss personal terms with Charlton Athletic after Posh accepted a bid from Lee Bowyer's side.

One of Peterborough's stand-out performers in League One this season, Maddison has provided 15 direct goal contributions which has helped the club climb up to ninth in the standings.

Billy Sharp

Despite helping Sheffield United seal promotion the Premier League last season, Billy Sharp has been forced to watch on from the sidelines for the majority of the current campaign due to the presence of Oli McBurnie and Lys Mousset.

With a place in the Blades' starting eleven no longer guaranteed, the forward has recently been linked with a move to Derby who are reportedly interested in signing him on loan, as per The Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

Given that Sharp has scored 114 goals in the Championship during his career, he could potentially take the Rams to new heights over the coming months if he is able to hit the ground running at Pride Park.

Ferdi Kadioglu

Whilst Turkish news outlet Fotospor initially reported that the Rams were interested in signing Fenerbahce midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu, the Derby Telegraph have now suggested that a move is not on the cards.

The 20-year-old played under Phillip Cocu during the Dutchman's time in charge of the Turkish outfit.

Although he has been limited to just 11 appearances in all competitions this season, Kadioglu is set to stay at Fenerbahce this month.
