Derby County to rival Sheffield Wednesday for international ace with Europa League experience

Derby County are hoping to kick on in 2021.
Last year was a difficult one for the Rams as they found themselves stuck in the Championship relegation zone in the early stages of the campaign, however under Wayne Rooney they’ve showed real improvements.
Now attention turns to the January transfer window as they look to make some astute signings who can move the club up the table.
One player who has been linked is Aleksandar Boljevic.
Reports from Beglian outlet footnews.be. via the Derbyshire Telegraph have claimed that the 25-year-old could be on the move this month with the Rams and Sheffield Wednesday both thought to be keen.
Despite playing in the Europa League last term, the Standard Liege star has found first team opportunities hard to come by this season and has been limited to just six appearances in the Belgian top flight so far.
A right-sided midfielder by trade, the hope would be that Boljevic can bolster Rooney’s attacking line and provide both goals and assists to move the Rams up the Championship table.

The Verdict
This could be an excellent move for Derby County.
A Montenegro international, Boljevic is a player of undoubted quality who would certainly strengthen Wayne Rooney’s side.
It remains to be seen just how expensive a deal could prove to be but if the Rams can beat their competition to this one then it could prove to be a very shrewd deal indeed.
