Towards the end of the summer, Derby County swooped to sign James Wilson from Manchester United.

The deal was a season-long loan and the Rams  fought off competition to land the England under-21 striker.

Wilson blew hot and cold during his time on loan at Brighton last season and he has thus far failed to produce anything of note for Derby.

James Wilson has only played four times in the league this season with Derby only picking up one point from those games.

He had failed to score until he netted for the under-23s against Doncaster in the EFL Trophy and a serious knee injury has sidelined him for the foreseeable future.

With the wealth of talent that Manchester United have to offer, though, Derby might not be hesitant to look to Old Trafford in January again.

Here are TWO players that Derby should consider signing from Manchester United in January...

Sean Goss

Central midfield maestro Sean Goss is regarded as one of Manchester United's brightest prospects and he has been included in Premier League and Champions League squads already despite his young age.

The 20-year-old is a technically gifted left-footed midfielder who would add strength in depth to Derby's ranks.

Goss was born in Germany but moved to England to join Exeter before switching to the Red Devils, where he has been a key member of their youth sides.

Sam Johnstone

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone probably needs to leave Manchester United to further his career.

The former England under-20 stopper has had eight loan spells away from Old Trafford and has never played a competitive game for the Premier League giants.

The 23-year-old's contract runs until 2018 but he might consider a move to a club like Derby, where he would be competing for a starting spot with Scott Carson, rather than wasting away in the Manchester United reserves.
