According to an exclusive report by The Sun, Derby County are set to conclude the signing of Cameron Jerome imminently.

Derby have agreed a £1.9m fee with Norwich City for Jerome's services and the striker has agreed a contract with the Rams so the move is just subject to a medical.

Jerome is set to undergo his medical today ahead of the completion of this move and he will pen an eighteen month contract with Derby.

Derby have beaten a number of Championship clubs to this signing as Jerome looked for a route out of Carrow Road, having fallen down the pecking order under Daniel Farke.

The 31-year-old, who has previously played for Cardiff City, Birmingham City and Stoke City in his career, is now set to join Gary Rowett's men for their promotion push.

Derby currently have Matej Vydra leading the way up front with sixteen goals in total while Dave Nugent and Sam Winnall have both netted six strikes each.

With Chris Martin possibly set to leave Pride Park this month, Jerome is coming in as a fourth option up front for the promotion hopefuls.

Derby currently sit second in the Championship and are hoping to add Jerome's firepower to bolster their promotion credentials.

The Verdict

While Jerome is not the most spectacular signing Derby could have made, he is still a very good back up choice at Championship level. The former England under-21 man has plenty of experience and nous at this level and he is a physical striker who can be a handful for the defence. With Vydra still in the starring role, Rowett is now able to rotate Nugent, Winnall and Jerome as his alternative options.
