Derby County look set to sign Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan before the deadline this week, according to Metro.
Derby’s form has taken an awful turn for the worst during the last six games, and they haven’t won a single game and will look to Wilson to fire them back into form and back up the table.
The teenager is to be allowed to go out on loan after being Manchester United’s fourth choice striker this season under Louis Van Gaal.
The 19-year-old striker was handed his full debut last season by interim manager Ryan Giggs, against Hull City where he scored twice.
Derby thought they’d landed the England under-21 international last week before he was injured in an under-21 match for United last week. If he’s cleared by the United medical team, then he will join the Rams this week.
Derby are currently in fifth place in the Sky Bet Championship, having amassed 67 points thus far this season.
The Rams were defeated 2-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers last Friday at Molineux, in a game that saw their promotion push take a significant blow.
