Sky Bet Championship outfit Derby County are closing in on a deal for Norwich City midfielder Bradley Johnson in a deadline day swoop, according to the Daily Mail.
The 28-year old played a key role as the Canaries won promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-off final last season, but has only made one start so far this campaign.
Johnson was named Norwich’s player of the year last term, after scoring 15 goals and Derby, who have had a slow start are keen to adding to their squad.
It is currently unknown whether the deal will be a loan move or a permanent one, but Norwich are set to let some of their players leave on a temporary basis today.
Rams boss Paul Clement will see Johnson as a possible solution for his side, who are yet to win in the league, despite being one of the favourites to gain promotion.
Central midfielder Johnson started his career at Arsenal’s academy before working his way up from non-league football and has played for the likes of Leeds United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Northampton Town and Stevenage Borough.
