Sky Bet Championship sides Hull City and Derby County are chasing Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed on loan, according to the Times.
The 20-year old is highly-rated by Saints manager Ronald Koeman, and has played 16 times in all competitions for them.
He featured seven times in the league last season as the south coast club had a number of injuries in midfield, allowing Reed to have a chance in the first team.
With the uncertainty surrounding Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore’s futures, Steve Bruce does look short in midfield, particularly centrally, and Reed could be someone who will aid their promotion push this season.
Meanwhile, Derby County boss Paul Clement has been scouring the market recently as he looks to cover for Will Hughes, who is out for around six months after surgery.
With Southampton having a strong midfield, particularly with the summer additions of Jordy Clasie and Oriol Romeu, they may be willing to loan out the talented under-20 international in order for him to get some team experience.
