Derby County will be looking to pick up points at the earliest of opportunities, with Phillip Cocu’s side currently occupying one of the spots in the relegation zone.
The Rams drew with AFC Bournemouth in their last match, in an improved display against one of the teams that are likely to be challenging for a top-six finish in the Championship this season.
Derby haven’t won in their last five matches in the second-tier though, which sees them currently sit 22nd in the table after their opening nine matches of this year’s campaign.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of their match against the Hoops, Phillip Cocu issued a positive update on Kamil Jozwiak, with the winger set to return to the squad after missing the draw against Bournemouth.
Jozwiak has made six appearances for Derby since signing from Polish side Lech Poznan in the summer transfer window, and has chipped in with one assist so far.
“Kamil is doing fine.
“He had a test today and it worked out fine. He felt great after the session and on Tuesday he will join us to prepare for the game against Queens Park Rangers.”
Cocu went on to issue a positive update on Max Bird, who also missed the match against the Cherries. The young midfielder has been a crucial member of the Derby team this season, having made () appearances in all competitions for the Rams this term.
“He had a health issue. It was not COVID-19 related, but we have to be careful these days. He trained today, so he is back in training.”

His return has come at the ideal time.
QPR will be full of confidence of picking up a positive result as well, after recently beating Cardiff City at the weekend. Jozwiak has impressed me this season, and I’d expect him to be involved against the Hoops.
It’ll be interesting to see whether he’s thrown back into the starting XI though, as Phillip Cocu needs to change something to end their poor run of form.
They haven’t been anywhere near good enough in recent weeks, and they need to put together a positive run of results at the earliest of opportunities.
