Derby County have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Bobby Duncan on a free transfer from Italian side Fiorentina, according to Football Insider.

The young attacker left Liverpool not so long ago as he looked to get more senior football and found himself in Florence in what was a bold and intriguing move.

Unfortunately, it has not worked out for the young attacker and he now appears to be on the brink of a move back to these shores with La Viola willing to let him go for free to the Rams.

The report claims that the men from the East Midlands could make an official announcement concerning the deal as early as today and so Rams fans will be checking their club's channels for any news on the arrival.

The Verdict

Derby have got some fine young players coming through at the moment and it appears that Phillip Cocu wants to keep adding to that environment of using youth to really spur them on.

Results at the start of this season haven't been ideal but there is faith in the Dutchman that things will go to plan this season and Duncan will be looking to play his part after a tough spell in Italy.

He's still very young and has plenty to offer the right club.
