Derby County manager Frank Lampard has revealed that star winger Harry Wilson has returned to full fitness ahead of the Rams’ clash with Wigan Athletic on Tuesday.

Wilson, who has been one of the club’s stand out players this season, has not played for Lampard’s side since the defeat to Nottingham Forest two weeks ago, but is now back in contention.

The Liverpool loanee missed Saturday’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Aston Villa due to an illness and will undoubtedly be a very welcome return.

Since arriving at Pride Park back in the summer, Wilson has made a huge impact, scoring 12 and assisting four more in all competitions.

He had helped Lampard’s side into the play-off places but they have recently surrendered that spot, sat in seventh place and three points behind Bristol City.

They will get the chance to close the gap on the Robins on Tuesday night, however, when they host Wigan Athletic at Pride Park.

The verdict

Derby could really do with a win on Tuesday night.

They are in real danger of falling into a rut and if it is not sorted soon they could soon tumble down the table.

Having Wilson back will be a huge boost, however, and could prove the difference in the season run-in.
