According to The Daily Record reported via The Derby Telegraph, Gary Rowett's side have been linked with Rangers front-man Michael O'Halloran.

It has been rumoured that Derby are taking an interest in the forward and have recently sent scouts to go and watch him.

The 26-year-old joined Rangers from fellow Scottish side St Johnstone last year, and has gone on to make 37 outings from the club.

This season, O'Halloran has made 24 appearances in all competitions in 2016/17, but has made just a single outing since Pedro Caixinha took over at Rangers.

Derby aren't the only team reported to be interested in the Scotsman.

League One Southend and Championship high-flyers Huddersfield have are also said to be chasing O'Halloran, as well as his former club Bolton Wanderers, who are closing in on promotion to the second tier.

Derby's season has seen a mini-revival under new boss Gary Rowett.

The former Birmingham boss has won three and drawn the other of his opening four matches, and later today he takes his Rams team to Brentford, still hoping they can clinch a play-off place.
