Derby midfielder, Craig Bryson could be set to depart the Rams at the end of this season, with Kilmarnock offering him a pre-contract deal according to The Express.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of this year's campaign, and it looks like his future will be away from Frank Lampard's side.

This wouldn't be Bryson's first spell with Kilmarnock, having previously made 135 appearances for the Scottish side before moving to Derby in 2011.

Bryson has had a hugely successful career with the Rams and has made 246 appearances in total across a seven-year-spell with the club.

The Scotsman has made 21 league starts for Lampard's side this season and he would have been hoping to stay with the Championship side beyond the expiration of his contract in the summer.

Derby are currently sat 6th in the Championship table and have put themselves in a strong position to achieve a top six finish this season.

Bryson isn't going to be short of options in the summer though, and Killie are going to have to play the waiting game to strike any sort of agreement with their former midfielder.

But Bryson is going to be fully focused on playing his part in Derby's promotion bid this season, as they target a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

The Verdict:

I still think he could do a good enough job for Derby.

Bryson might not have age on his side, but his experience has helped the development of the younger players in Lampard's squad this season.

I'd be renewing his deal in the summer if I was in charge and it would be a real coup for Kilmarnock if they can pull this deal off.
