The Rams are recharging the batteries after a disappointing end to the campaign, which saw them dramatically slide out of the running for Premier League promotion.

But there have already been noticeable changes at the iPro with the departure of McClaren and the arrivals of both Morris and Clement.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Morris is giving his full financial backing to Clement, and has urged him to find the right players to take Derby back to the top flight.

He said: “We invested last season, we’ll be investing again this season. Paul will have money to spend this summer.”

The former Real Madrid assistant is expected to add Aston Villa striker Darren Bent on a permanent basis, after his successful loan stint last season. Fellow Villa striker Andreas Weimann has been linked with a £2 million move, although Clement remains coy on his interest.
