There is still plenty to play for at Derby County, with Gary Rowett’s squad focusing on securing play-off football in the Sky Bet Championship.

A disappointing start to 2018 has put Derby in a difficult position, with Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Burton Albion leading to the Rams falling out of the top-six.

Regardless of a souring mood at the Pride Park Stadium, Derby are still in a good position, particularly when you consider the game in-hand they hold over their rivals around them.

Rowett’s focus will be on getting into the play-offs and then a potential promotion push, however, he will accept that some big changes need to be made ahead of next season, wherever Derby find themselves.

With that in mind, we take a look at Derby’s squad, identifying THREE first-team players we believe need to be moved on when the summer transfer window comes around…

Keogh has been a consistent in Derby’s defence for some years now, but he has struggled on occasion recently.

The 4-1 defeat to Sunderland stands out as an evening where Keogh fell to pieces, with the defender not featuring since then.

Rowett might want a fresh face to come in and partner Curtis Davies, which could open the door for Keogh to move on.

Bent is away from Derby on-loan with Burton Albion currently, but it is hard to see him working his way back into Rowett’s plans.

The veteran forward has contributed well to Derby over the years, but the coming summer is the time for the two parties to go their separate ways.

Butterfield is another away from Derby on-loan, with the midfielder at Hillsborough with Sheffield Wednesday.

It hasn’t been a good spell for Butterfield in South Yorkshire, which won’t have convinced Rowett to hand him another chance at Derby.

There are plenty of players the Rams will consider axing, but Butterfield will be somewhere near the top of that list.
