Fulham will be the Sky Bet Championship’s most confident team going into the midweek fixtures, having just broken into the Play-Offs, and Derby County’s Alex Pearce is expecting a tough test when the two sides meet this evening, reports the Rams’ official website.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side moved to sixth in the table following their 1-0 victory over Rotherham United, just hours after Sheffield Wednesday had left the door open for them by drawing 1-1 with Barnsley.

The Cottagers will look to maintain their top-six position this evening when they travel to the Pride Park Stadium to face Gary Rowett’s Derby, who are also going into the game with a victory over QPR behind them.

Previewing Tuesday’s clash, Pearce was full of praise for their upcoming opponents, he said: “We played them earlier on in the season at their place and I thought it was one of the toughest games we’ve played this year.

“We know what we’re going to be in for. I thought they were probably one of the better sides that we’ve played this year for sure.

“They were very dangerous in an attacking sense, they get a lot of men forward and they pass the ball very quickly with high tempo.

“We are going to have to be on our guard for sure but we like to think that anyone coming to our home ground will be in for a tough game.”

Derby’s victory over QPR on Friday evening left Rowett’s side tenth in the Championship table, eight points behind Tuesday’s visitors.

If the Rams are to keep their slim Play-Off hopes alive, they must pick up three points this evening.
