Derby County defender Curtis Davies has spoken to the Nottingham Post and insisted that any jibes or wind up tactics from the Forest fans during tomorrow's crucial Midlands derby will only spur him on in his quest for three points.

The former Hull City and West Brom defender will be hoping he can steer his Rams side towards three welcome points in the key game with the Reds, after seeing his side drift away from the race for automatic promotion and now fighting to cling on to their spot in the top six.

However, Davies is confident in his team, and insisted the Forest fans can spur on his team.

"I’ve heard it’s a bit naughty down there. I’ve played in derbies before,” he said. "I take it with a pinch of salt. I enjoy it. They try to wind you up. You try to wind them up."It’s all part of the pantomime. I’m just hoping we’re smiling at the end.

You hear the crowd but you either go into yourself or you thrive on it. I like a bit of abuse.

Forest are under new management following Aitor Karanka's appointment and have shown vast signs of improvement over the last few weekends, and the Spaniard will be hoping he can deliver what would be a sweet victory for Forest fans against their bitter rivals.

Indeed, Davies's comments will no doubt incite even more stick from the Reds fans.

Forest and Rams fans, what do you think the score will be tomorrow? Let us know in the comments!
