Leeds United and Derby County have been the talk of the EFL this past week, with the current 'spygate' controversy a hot topic as it stands.

Marcelo Bielsa's decision to send a member of his camp to the Rams' traning complex before their game last weekend caused plenty of controversy on its own.

However, Bielsa took it a step further this week just gone, by presenting an in-depth analytical display to the onlooking press which revealed the extent to which he goes to find out about his opposition, essentially making the point that he doesn't need to spy on training to gather information.

This story is not quite done yet by a longshot either, and Derby County have today made a move of their own which brings further attention to the issue, with the Rams advertising for a 'data integration architect' on their official website.

The decision from Derby's media team to put this advertisement out now is one of sheer amazement really, and is bound to draw plenty of attention to the issue, as demonstrated by YEP reporter Joe Urquhart on Twitter.

It's a truly astonishing advertisement from the Rams with how things are going at the moment, and it will be interesting to see just how this pans out.

The Verdict

Just when we thought this couldn't get any funnier or controversial from a neutral point of view, Derby go and do this.

The role might not even be involved with first team matters and team data collection, but it would suggest in the advert that it's not too far wide of that mark.

The Rams need to move on from this and quick, and doing things like this is not going to help one bit.
