Derby County, Luton Town and Reading are considering a deal for Wigan Athletic winger Jordan Jones, as per a report from TEAMtalk

The report states that Blackpool and Barnsley are also in pursuit of the 27-year-old, with Jones seeing a lack of game time with the Latics this season.

Wigan are yet to make a decision regarding Jones' future, but it is believed that the winger himself wants to be playing more football.

Jones has appeared nine times in the league for the League One promotion-chasers this season, with juts three of those appearances coming from the very start.

The exciting winger, who can also operate in a number 10 role, has 15 caps at international level with Northern Ireland, with his latest appearance being a full 90 minutes against Estonia in a friendly.

The verdict

It will be interesting to see if the man who is not playing enough football in League One could go on to enjoy more regular football in the Championship.

Reading are in a uncertain situation at the moment with the future of John Swift yet to be determined, meaning he could possibly see regular minutes at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Derby are in a similar position where they can be picked off this month, with lots of talent coming through the ranks at Pride Park and lots of young players already shining at first team level.

Blackpool and Luton find themselves quite similar in their trusting of the EFL pyramid, with both clubs taking big gambles from the lower divisions in the Championship.
