Derby County are in talks to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Leon Best on a loan deal, according to BBC Radio Derby.
The Republic of Ireland international was recently transfer-listed by Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer who is keen to get the 27 year-old off the club’s wage bill.
Derby County are pursuing a loan deal for the former Coventry City and Newcastle United striker rather than a permanent deal.
Best has made just 16 appearances for Blackburn since signing for the club in the summer of 2012. Injuries and a lack of form have been the main factor behind his limited use at Ewood Park and he is now surplus to requirements.
The striker ended last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday where he scored four goals in 15 games.
