Citing issues with where he will be plying his trade next season, Ince has decided that he needs to focus more on his club career rather than playing in the upcoming Qualifiers and this summer's European Championship.

This came as quite a surprise to Under 21's boss Gareth Southgate who has already picked a very talented young side which boasts the likes of Danny Ings, Saido Berahino and Bournemouth's latest starlet Callum Wilson. Most players would be fighting for this opportunity but Ince decided to turn it down.

This decision came about after a chat between both Southgate, Ince and his father Paul Ince, who boasts a good track record with the national side with 53 caps to his name.

Neither current loan club boss Steve McClaren or parent club boss Steve Bruce have made a comment about the situation that hasn't garnered much media speculation. With both bosses having allegiances to the national side, it wouldn't be a surprise if either of them chose to speak to Ince about his decision.

A bold move for the winger once linked with a summer move to Italian giants Inter Milan. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the tricky winger, with a less than successful first stint at Hull City forcing him to move out on loan.

At the young age of 23 the player has a lot to look forward to and if his performances can pick up and he feels a lot safer by the end of the season. There could still be a way to prove his worth to the England setup and change a lot of fans opinions.
