Derby County are in pole position over Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton in the race to seal a deal for Cheltenham Town striker Luke Thomas, according to TeamTalk.
Thomas, 16, is highly-rated at the National League high-flyers, and it seems that Derby County manager Paul Clement is keen on securing a deal to sign the highly-rated ace.
At the tender age of just 16, Thomas has been placed on the Cheltenham Town substitutes bench numerous times this season – and looks set to break into the first-team at the club very soon.
The publication claims that Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in the player, but suggests that the iPro Stadium is looking like the likely destination for the youngster.
Derby County currently occupy fourth position in the Sky Bet Championship, having accrued 38 points from 20 league games – in what has been a strong start to their 2015/16 campaign.
The Rams are relatively weak in the attacking department in-terms of depth, with Clement only really having Chris Martin and Darren bent at his disposal, as the only two out and out forwards – so it would be no surprise to see the club move for a striker in the next transfer window.
