Derby County coach Liam Rosenior insists that he is not concerned by the talk surrounding Phillip Cocu's future.

The Dutchman is only in his second season at Pride Park but there are already reports claiming he will be sacked after an uninspiring start to the campaign, with Wayne Rooney primed to take over.

These updates have continued despite Mel Morris backing the boss in public and Rosenior, who is first-team coach, explained to journalist Ryan Conway how everyone connected to Derby isn't letting the speculation impact them.

"I haven't paid attention to anything from the outside. We on the inside we know what we're trying to achieve for this football club. Inside this building we are one. All I want to see is Derby being successful and the manager feels the same."

The focus for the management and his staff will be on the Rams game against Cardiff City at Pride Park on Wednesday.

A 1-1 draw at bitter rivals Nottingham Forest last time out means Derby have won just one of their seven league games so far this season.

The verdict

This is the exact sort of response from Rosenior as he is very professional and he wouldn't want to take any focus away from the big game in the week.

Whether they do pay attention to all the rumours is something only he will actually know but it can't be helpful to have Cocu's future constantly discussed.

The only way it will ease up is by winning games though and they have a chance to build on a decent point last time out by beating the Bluebirds this week.
