According to the Daily Mirror (via The Huddersfield Examiner) both Derby County and Norwich City are looking at German defender Michael Hefele.

Hefele joined Huddersfield from Dynamo Dresden last summer as David Wagner imported several players from German clubs who became crucial to the Terriers' promotion campaign.

The 26-year-old made 37 Championship appearances for Wagner's side last season, and also played in all 3 Play-Off matches as Huddersfield captured promotion to the Premier League, beating Reading on penalties in the Wembley final.

Both Derby and Norwich had defensive frailties last season and have already began to address that this summer, with Gary Rowett bringing in Curtis Davies and Andre Wisdom, whilst Daniel Farke has brought in centre-back Christoph Zimmermann.

New Canaries boss Farke, much like Wagner, is German and has already begun to use the German market, signing Zimmermann from Borussia Dortmund II as well as bringing in Mario Vrancic from SV Darmstadt, so Norwich would seem the more likely destination.

However, Gary Rowett has already attracted a couple of decent players to Derby and could well bring in Michael Hefele, if he can convince him to remain in England's second tier.
